Keyboarding, Typing, and Production

Students in grade 4th-6th participate in a weekly Keyboarding, Technology, and Production class. During this time, students type reports, paragraphs, and essays in Google Docs. Students master changing font styles, font sizes, alignments, and inserting images. The students also create Google Slides presentations to learn how to insert images, change font styles, create Word Art, add animation, change backgrounds, and transition between slides. We also learn about research tools that are available, such as The Alabama Virtual Library. Students in 5th and 6th grade learn skills in Canva to include design, elements, and texts. 

All students in grades 2nd through 6th have accounts on Typing Club. This program improves keyboarding skills by providing a proper hand position guide, videos, and typing challenges.
