Rockwell Elementary presently serves 812 students in Grades K through 5. The school’s faculty consists of a principal, assistant principal, and forty-eight (57) certified teachers; the twenty-eight (28) members of the support staff include paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodians, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers. Rockwell Elementary School, located on U.S. Hwy 31 approximately two miles from the business districts of both Daphne and Spanish Fort, was established in the Fall of 1997. The school consists of 50 classrooms, including a media center, computer lab, gymnasium, cafeteria, office complex, teacher workroom, and special education classrooms with a facility for developmentally delayed children. The campus is large enough to accommodate current needs for outdoor activities as well as future growth. Rockwell Elementary is a Discipline-Based Arts Education school. This program involves the integration of the visual arts, music, theatre, and dance into the curriculum, with an emphasis placed on historical background, aesthetics, criticism, and the production of works of art.
